Memorial Day 2009 Rides
Beautiful weather accompanied the long Memorial Day weekend. Several of us rode on adventures over the weekend. I'm still waiting on some pics to get here from others of you that took rides. Send them on and we'll post them up here!
On Friday, Jazzman and Fatback went on a 400 mile adventure down to Floyd County and rode parts of the "Crooked Road Music Trail" featured in a recent bike magazine. They stopped by the Floyd Country Store, Mabry Mill on the BRP and spotted a new red Camaro at a gas station.
Saturday a bunch went on a club ride to near Lynchburg. The day was beautiful. Several times we saw groups of bikes headed toward DC for Rolling Thunder. We ate at one of the group's favorite spots, check out the pics in this gallery.
On Sunday, Memorial Day, Eddie, Becky and Fatback braved the urban landscape to be part of Rolling Thunder. This trip was exciting due to them getting lost in the boutique/shopping/beautiful people portion of DC, then getting separated, then miraculously finding one another again. Finally they found the Memorial Bridge, watched the parade of bikes, and trooped to the Mall. Saw many cool bikes, like the new Ness Victory Vision, and of course nice paint on some bikes. Also snapped some pics of the Vietnam soldiers and the Korean soldiers Memorials. It's always moving to see the vets and others' outstanding displays of patriotism and honor for our fallen heroes.
Here are Becky's pics
