Rolling Thunder, May, 2008

The RT parade On the hottest day of May, or maybe of the year, a bunch of us rode to Washington for Rolling Thunder.  We went up 340 to 211, then 66 into the city.

We parked near the Arlington Cemetary and walked in.  As we approached the bridge, we got to the parade.  Bikes roared through here for hours...we struggled just waiting for a gap to cross.

Fatback at RT We trudged in the heat to the stage that's in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

Here's Fatback near the stage, which faces the Washington Monument.

Scooterboy at the LM Scooter Boy with the LM in the background.  People lining the sides of the road are watching the bikes continue to parade.

We got on the bikes, stopped at Panera Bread to eat, then home, i think on 29.  The ride, other than being hot, was a good time.  The only bummer was the red light to take a left into the gas station lasted for too long.

It was outstanding to be part of the patriotism that Rolling Thunder represents.
